Packing...4 days to go

Well I have been just barreling through whatever loose ends I have in Healdsburg. I have had every roadblock imaginable in my way but I am determined toternet access.

It's going to be hard but I will have made good on a promise and that will be enough to keep me motivated.

Where am I going?

The property is near Leggett. I went there once but I was only there for a second. I have heard few details. It's near Legett. It has a tiny little shack on it. 38 acres. At least one local bear, made quite the mess recently. At least on big cat, it tried to get one of our dogs and left it pretty close to dying, no one knows exactly what kind of cat but it was pretty messy.

The driveway is a 4 wheel drive affair for sure. When it's dried out real real good 2 wheels or ok. long and not many neighbors. It's on a hill that leads to a creek at the bottom. I think the creek is the property line.

List of mandatory ameneties

Well I am starting to get pretty damn nervous. It's exciting, but it took a while to realize the scope of this situation it's just around the corner!

These are the things already taken care of at least partially:

• 5000 watt gas generator (need of repair...plus gas is cheating right!)
• Kerosene heater
• Some weird toilette that is for off grid living...that needs fixed or cleaned. GREAT.
• 1 Solar PV panel, unsure of the specs, just the pv cell no mounts.

Things I KNOW I need to live more than 2 days!:

• A/C or cooling
• Somewhere to use the A/C
• Internet
• Solar Shower
• Hot Water
• Cooking Heat
• Refrigeration
• Compressed Air (at least 20psi for Airbrush)
• Lit Workspace for Projecting

Journal: Week to go.... May 10

Today I got up at 8, got a call at 9, got picked up by a customer at 10.

Did an install until 5 and they dropped me off at another install and I got home at 12 am. 14 hours.

Now I checked the email, responded to some business stuff, drank a beer and ate, it is now 3 am.



Time for bed.

I am diving off the grid

I am sick and tired of dealing with the city and the government. I have had the city planning department and EPA called on me for building stuff in my garage and doing airbrush art numerous times. They came on 2 occasions. My neighbors backyard is a high school ... specifically the pool! Not quiet during daylight, ever (summer....POOL!), and I had never so much as had a request to be quiet. Call the police like decent cowardly human beings (come on... a jigsaw is the loudest thing I do, but I told them to tell me if I am being to loud!).

I'm out. My family just purchased a 38 spot in Leggett. It is basically a plot in the forest, right off 101N. No driveway yet, but a good driver in a 2 wheel drive truck can make in and out if its dry.
There is a small structure on it. But it isn't anything that can be inhabited yet, Eddy Bauer cabin tent will be home.

I will have to MAKE everything I am not donated and it is OFF grid. I am broke broke. My debt collectors stopped calling, I get about ONE beer a week and my mother let's me eat her food, I sacrifice a beer for deodorant (after a while...wtf would you choose?) Broke. Brokedy broke broke broke. Lots of cool stuff... not a cent or a lender stupid enough to give credit.
